There is something really special about a vow renewal after ten years together. The energy is different! It’s relaxed & known. It’s full of security and calm joy.
It is about looking at each other after a decade of life, kids, chaos, and all the in-between moments and saying, “I’d choose you all over again.”
After a series of last-minute changes and a location hunt that landed us in the most beautiful little pocket of the Pacific Northwest. Towering evergreens, misty mountains, and a winding gravel road made it feel like we had stepped right into a dream.

Honestly, this location was one of those happy accidents. Jessica & Caden had pivoted last minute and found this gem. Tucked into the woods with a modern black cabin hidden between the trees, it felt quiet, cozy, and a little magical.
The large pocket windows inside were every photographer’s dream lighting situation too! We got such beautiful photos of the family getting ready. It was such a fun, intimate moment.
You know they have gotten ready together hundreds of times before, but today was so special. With Jessica slipping into her wedding dress, and Caden wearing a dark green suit. Their four kids wearing coordinating outfits.

Before the ceremony, Jessica and Caden shared a first look on the boardwalk outside the cabin. Jessica looked absolutely stunning with her short red hair, delicate headband, and tattoos peeking out from her strapless dress. Caden could not stop smiling at her.
You could feel it instantly. These two are best friends.
As a travel elopement photographer, I get the honor of photographing the start of so many adventures. Couples choosing each other and slowing down to intentionally have a ceremony for this new start.
But for this day, it was a celebration of lived life. Of overcome struggles, long sleepless nights with newborns, navigating job changes and health changes… of doing life. These days are so freakin’ special to me.

By the time they stood together overlooking the water, surrounded by their kids and those giant evergreen trees, it felt like the entire day had come full circle.
No pressure or big production.
No onlookers.
We spent the afternoon wandering near the water. The family stopped together and exchanged private vows. I got to hang back and take photos. It was the definition of an intimate ceremony.
At the end of my time there, Jessica & Caden shared another first dance on the patio of the cabin to really soak up the feelings of the day together.
As an elopement photographer I’m already drawn to the quiet, meaningful moments. And this full circle celebration is just another layer of that!
If you’re considering creating a special day like this around a milestone anniversary, consider this your invitation to make it happen. You won’t regret it!

Wear the colorful dress. Book the art museum. Elope. Whatever feels like you, I'm here for it. I'll be there to document it all in a way that feels like the true you AND looks like edgy, cool art. Because why not have both?!
